Accessories included with VK650 stop at the basic level, when only 1 EU type power cord and 1 user manual are included, it is quite a pity that no power screw is included.

AIGO chose GuangHaiDianZi as the manufacturer (OEM) for the VK650 product . The "legendary" GH258 platform is used on popular product lines from many different brands around the world. In Vietnam, Xpower II/III also uses this platform.
AIGO chose GuangHaiDianZi as the manufacturer (OEM) for the VK650 product . The "legendary" GH258 platform is used on popular product lines from many different brands around the world. In Vietnam, Xpower II/III also uses this platform.
Components used on VK650 :
The GH258 platform is designed with only 1 layer of EMI noise filtering area, so in VK650 the manufacturer decided to "move" the EMI noise filtering circuit area to a small module board attached to the AC input jack to have enough space for 2 layers of EMI noise filtering circuit, to enhance the ability to eliminate the best noise pulses.
GBU806 bridge diode (8A) is directly cooled by the cooling fan, and the main capacitor 330uF/420V from Ltec has a maximum operating temperature of 105oC
Because it is only equipped with a narrow-band Active PFC circuit with a small value booster coil, the PFC stage only needs to be equipped with 1 IPS ITA25N50R Mosfet to meet the needs of a 650W real power PSU. The PWM stage uses another pair of Mosfets also from IPS with the code ITA20N60A.
Both main power stages of the primary section are controlled by the SC3805J oscillator IC which has the same features as the Champion CM6805BSX IC. Next to it is the main transformer using a large EE39 core.
In the output DC rectifier area is a combination of pulse diodes (schottky diodes) with the 12V line equipped with 3 PS30U60CTR diodes (30A x)
The VK650 's operation monitoring IC is Sitronix ST9S313C-DAG providing 3 basic protection modes OVP/UVP/SCP and located next to it is the 5Vsb pre-supply circuit area using an EST2812D combo IC.
The smart fan circuit is equipped with an additional LM393 comparator IC to create a non-linear fan speed graph to help the PSU operate a little quieter at light loads when the internal power components are not hot enough.
Because it uses 100% through-hole/DIP components, the printed circuit board has nothing to discuss, the shiny solder joints comply with RoHS standards.
III-Test
1-Load test:
VK650 completed the load levels relatively well with voltage fluctuation within the required ATX standard. The efficiency reached above and below 85% as committed by AIGO, at 2 uneven load levels because it was not equipped with DC to DC feature, so the voltage fluctuated slightly outside the ATX standard.

2-Inrush current testing:
The VK650 's starting current surpasses the BR600W and is at the top of the power supplies with the highest starting current in the rankings.
3-Transient response test:
*From March 1, 2022, f14lab will upgrade the upload system to chroma 6330 to use the on/off synchronization feature, which will force the PSU's capacity more precisely/heavily. In addition, the DC rails of the power supply will be connected to a 3300uF/16V capacitor (according to intel ATX design guide)
VK650 completes the load levels of the test with 3.3V rail voltage beyond the ATX standard

4-Ripple & Noise (High frequency AC noise):
VK650 has a ripple noise level that stops at an average level when the 12V line reaches nearly 80mV, and the 5Vsb line fluctuates around 40mV. The other two lines fluctuate around 20mV.
5-Hold-up time: The VK650
's Power OK signal is not really accurate when it is lost after the 12V line falls below the required ATX standard.
's Power OK signal is not really accurate when it is lost after the 12V line falls below the required ATX standard.
6-Protection features:
Because it is not equipped with OCP feature, UVP feature will have to take over the task of cutting off the output current when overload causes voltage drop on each main power line. OPP and SCP protection modes work well.
7-Earth leak current (Check leakage current)
For IT devices (Class I), of which the ATX computer power supply is one, the safety standard requires that the leakage current must not exceed 3.5mA at an input voltage of ~110% of the maximum voltage that the manufacturer announced that the PSU can operate (here it will be 110% of 240VAC equivalent to about 264VAC@60Hz). To check this problem, we will use the specialized device GW instek GLC-9000 to measure the leakage current.
8- Working temperature and cooling fan speed (Temp & Fan RPM):
Environmental conditions: 38-45°C
The cooling fan will stay around 1000rpm when the load is light and the PSU is not hot enough. Then it will immediately speed up when the load is increased. Helps the PSU run quieter when the load is light but will also make the PSU a little hotter.
VK650 uses WAM W12025HZ12SELA cooling fan, Rifle bearing with maximum speed of 2200rpm
